It’s that time again. The time for a collection of pretty images that found themselves living in harmony on my Pinterest boards. This time of year always seems kind of long. Here in the Midwest, we are hanging in the balance between late winter and early spring. The weather can be slushy and kind of brown or sunny and mild… you don’t always know what you’re going to get. Store windows are showing pretty pastels and lightweight layers while we can’t quite shed our sweaters just yet. My answer to the blah? Perfectly pretty petals.

Dainty flowers. Pretty and feminine, blush pink and airy. There’s no avoiding Spring Fever.

The Inspiration

Dainty flower petals as design inspiration

I love the mix of the bold sans serif typography intertwined with the organic shapes of the flower petals in the upper left print. Those super feminine socks with the stitched petals look too pretty to stuff into boots, they’re probably best for reading magazines at home and thinking about how adorable your socks are. I am sucker for anything Celine so I love the ad, especially the pops of colors and mix of textures. I was also drawn to the soft light of the photo and the color of the tulips in the lower right. The clusters of flowers and the soft colors in each image all work really well together in what feels like the perfect collage to usher in Spring!

I’m hoping to break out my ink, nibs, and paper to get back into hand-lettering and making things… with my hands. It’s such a great break from a screen… as I type this… on my laptop… Anyway. The lovely blush pinks and dainty lines is just the inspiration I need to get back into the swing of things!
